Cultural Xpression August 2019 | No Supported for Imported Cannabis

In this August months edition of Cultural Xpression, we continue to keep you cultural in tuned and bring you closer to information that actually matter toward implementing positive change in ones day to day life. Agriculture always seem to fall on the deaf ears of our local parliamentarians, but now it seem that Medical Cannabis, many have been rooting for, for country St Maarten.

Last time I checked, I believe that Cannabis was still a plant and very well falls under the umbrella of Agriculture. So, why have we not sorted out to secure food for the general population, but yet have time to secure Ganja for the countries sick people? While there are a few things wrong with this for starters,  the biggest issue is we don’t even look at our food security issues. The last time I checked the National Recover and Resilience Plan, it’s top priority outlined was FOOD.

Nevertheless another main concern about the importation of Medical Cannabis, is that we can not fully understand the production process of this ‘’NEW AGE MEDICAL DRUG’’ and we take away valuable and promising opportunities to local farmers, entrepreneurs and researchers.

With a struggling country and a failing government, why do we continue to take great opportunities out of the hands of our people and continue to import goods and export our money? Could we not use this opportunity help to balance off our yearly deficits? Much less the tremendous health benefits to be harvested from the plant in its vegetation stage along with proper diet and exercise. Witch in the end will help to reduce many health factors as well once the population is proper educated about the use of the plant in once daily life just as many other plants..

Sometimes it seems like our leaders lack vision toward allowing the local man to prosper adequately. Or, are they just narrow sighted and only see what benefits them? Food for thought, but while your thinking about that, check out this months edition of CX where we share more on ‘’ECO St Maarten Agricultural Research and Development Foundation: No support for imported Cannabis’’, The health benefits of Sweet Potato and Great African Caribbean People such as Charles Ernest Gibbes. No matter what the topic is, we plan to motivate and inspire. After all, who wants just plain old news that only adds to the depression of the world rather then finding solutions to resolving them! We don’t, and since your here it means your part of the team as well. Thanks for sticking around!
