Cultural Xpression April 2020 | Celebrating 6 years during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Perhaps it just A Natural Mystic IN April that COVID-19,  influenced St. Martiner’s to turn to Home-growing.

As the COVID-19 pandemic starts to settle in and get a hold on the masses, there is a major shift in the atmosphere. Farming and back yard gardens have seem to be taking over world wide, even more here on the beautiful Island of St Maarten as people from all walks of life start to notice the threat of their food security by closure of supermarkets and essential goods outlets. Now more then ever we turn to nature to provide a sense of security.

With our local grand cultural event, carnival also being cancelled, everyone is stuck in doors still waiting to hear what the near future will bring.

Kids get adjusted to less social interaction , businesses close, jobs lost and people now trying to get a grip on what tomorrow will bring that will offer opportunity to put food on the table.

Although our tourism economy stoped at a halt, perhaps this will grant us new opportunity to take a deeper look at Carnival, Culture and COVID-19, and take a moment to Reflect.

Dr Antonio Carmona Báez also expressed in this month of CX that The COVID-19 pandemic an opportunity to break with our past and see new beginnings that lay ahead.

Now more then ever the reevaluation of what our cultural and tourism product is, in term of quality, needs to be giving more attention that it may also be a concept or product that not only our visitors would love to enjoy, but our locals as well.

In this months edition of CX we also cover the health benefits of False Daisy , a wild weed we found in our garden that has some amazing medicinal benefits.. Check out the business section for ‘’Ask Dr Gitten’’ of TPI a leader in innovative costumer service training that will help you to understand What’s Next with Critical Thinking during this pandemic.

We also touched a bit on sports on page 15 to help you also find ways to stay alive while, Staying Active While Social Distancing, the Questions and Answers you may have on your mind.

In all there is always something motivational or inspiring  to be found in CX as we continue to keep you culturally in tuned..

This year we celebrate 6 years of publication, it has not been an easy journey especially now that all face the inevitable. Nevertheless giving up is not an option and though we might slow down a bit on publication of the next few month due to the lack of supporters. We remain firm and plan to revamp and use this opportunity to come back stronger then ever. Remember we are St Maarten Strong and together we will achieve..

Keep on the look out for more updates from cx over the next months as we plan to cover all moths missed as we get restructure and ready for what tomorrow ill bring.. We will all suffer loses in this but the most important thing is to know you can also come out stronger then ever..

We wish everyone all this best in these trails times, keep yourself and other safe..
