What they learned today, may take them a long way tomorrow!
On feb 26, 2019, Wyatte embraced students of the St Peters Community from the Hillside Christian School. ‘’ I must say i had a great time with these kids’’. Wyatte attended the same school as as a youngster. You can ask any teacher there, WYATTE WAS NOT AN EASY CHILD. Wyatte expressed how much of a blessings it was and how grateful he was to be able to give back positive knowledge to the next generation of Hillside Christian School students… The 2 groups were very energetic and eager to learn. They came with question and all.s
The children visiting the St Maarten Agricultural Research and Development center learned the importance of climate change effects and how they may be able to influenced positive changes by implementing agricultural practices, At the same time playing their part in making tomorrow a better more sustainable way of living for oneself and mother earth !
Some may say that the path to agriculture should start at home. This is true! Fact of the matter is that today parents are racing against the clocks day to day just to put food on the tables and clothing on their children back. The reality of them taking time out to educate their kids on this journey is a rough one weighing on the judgement scale of priority. Nevertheless, this is where the schools come in as our kids spend at least 6 hours a day in a class room with teachers that are willing to add the value of agriculture to their curriculum. Most classroom visits to the agriculture centre are not schedule directly from the school administration, but by teachers that are interested in the subject and there for request their school admins to schedule a visit to the farm.
This is a growing interest and we should applaud the individual teachers making this step a viable path to agriculture for our kids.
Time for us to grow together ! Enjoy these photos. Will be sharing more photos soon !
