First Annual World Food Day Agricultural Industrial Fair POSTPONED TO NOV – NEW DATE COMING SOON

UPDATE: THE FIRST ANNUAL WORLD FOOD DAY AGRUCULTURAL INDUSTRIAL HAVE HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL NOVEMBER . WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATE WITH THE NEW DATE.

On Saturday July 20th , representatives from the Elwaldo Richardson Memorial Agriculture Foundation and Spaceless Gardens mutually agreed to plan and execute and Agricultural-Industrial fair in observance of World Food Day 16th  October 2013. The theme of World Food Day 2013 is “Sustainable Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition”.  The group is poised to host this open fair where the public can experience what a sustainable food system would look, work and taste like.

This fair will be held at the Emilio Wilson Park on Sunday Oct 20, 2013 and is going to be an annual event.

The intention is to have everyone who is occupied in the field of Agriculture, Animal husbandry or Fisheries to come together to display and sell their produce, including vendors along the road side that sell produce, creating a Market Day environment. There is  going to be various agricultural displays set up to demonstrate the different approaches towards agricultural production.

One of the highlights of the day will be the 2 hour cultural extravaganza.  On this day there will  be a play area for the children  and a lot of fun activities including a petting zoo, horseback riding, music entertainment and a sign up drive for back yard gardening

There will also be an industrial display area where companies and associations will showcase their goods and services. A section of the health Department will also so present to give information on their services.
