Raising The Red Nile Tilapia while added to Agricultural Sustainability of St Maarten
Blessed morning to everyone, give thanks for another beautiful day. Last week i was at my uncles Anthony Wescott’s house and was amazed what he did to his back yard, He started raising The Red Nile Tilapia, (Oreochromis Niloticus) is a relatively large cichlid fish and what he did was use it to be the drive force behind his Aqua Ponics system.

In the system he has a number of crop types growing such as, 3 types of Basil, Peppers, Lemon, Lime, Banana, Okra, Peppers, Cucumber and one hell of a Cherry tomatoe tree that seem to not stop growing till it passed the roof and he had to remove the over head screen over the system to allow it to keep growing.

Its amazing to see what innovative possibilities you can apply to make Agricultural sustainability a reality here on St Maarten.. There are allot of great minds here on the island that have a passion for seeing Agriculture change the way St Maarten thinks and approaches the much needed sector..

Together we can achieve it, one by one, step by step.. It motivated me to get back up my system and implement it for growing my herbs right in the yard at home so community members as they visit can have a look at what’s possible in small spaces. Will be working on my system today… Any one interested in taking agriculture to another level by implementing and Aqua-ponics system in there yard can contact us… Blessings
